Volunteer WEB Designer Executive - BRIA (Brazil Ireland Association)

Position: Volunteer WEB Designer Executive

Location: Remote/Hybrid (Ireland)

Time Commitment: Part-time Volunteer (flexible hours, approximately 3 hours per week)

Role Overview:

As a Volunteer Graphic Designer Executive for BRIA, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an engaging, user-friendly website that reflects our mission and strengthens our online presence. This role involves designing and updating web pages, improving UI/UX, and ensuring the website is visually appealing, functional, and accessible across devices. Managing and shaping internal and external communications, and ensuring that our message is conveyed to the Brazilian community in Ireland and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain BRIA’s website to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.

  • Create visually appealing and responsive web layouts that align with BRIA’s brand identity.

  • Update content, images, and functionality regularly to keep the website fresh and relevant.

  • Optimize the website for performance, speed, and SEO best practices.

  • Ensure website accessibility and mobile responsiveness across different devices.

  • Work closely with the marketing team to integrate digital content, event updates, and community initiatives.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web performance and usability.

  • Stay up to date with web design trends, tools, and best practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Web Designer or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and website builders like WordPress (Elementor).

  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design.

  • Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Figma) to create web visuals.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong writing and editing skills in both Portuguese and English.

  • Creative thinking with a keen understanding of how to engage diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks promptly.

  • Passion for helping the Brazilian community in Ireland and an understanding of the challenges they face.

  • Familiarity with the Brazilian community in Ireland and the Irish employment landscape is a plus.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SEO strategies and Google Analytics.

  • Familiarity with basic coding and website troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of social media and digital marketing integration.
